“ Tried several dining halls in Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania while visiting schools for my kids. This one was the best and it was far better than the food I had as an undergrad. I'm sure there are good and bad days, but on the day I visited, the main offering was a kind of thanksgiving dinner (in august). The turkey was really good - much better than what my mother-in-law serves. My son enjoyed the nicely done grilled cheese w/ tomato. The pizza kitchen was closed on the day we visited. It's certainly above average dining hall food and I wouldn't hesitate to have them feed my kids. ”
“ Almost everyone bags on this place at UMBC. I'm reading all these low ratings on here except for one five star. It hurts me a little as this dining hall has always felt like a second home to me during my entire college career. I first ate here during my freshman orientation and was super excited about coming here. And the fact that we had a dining hall that's All You Can Eat. I was stoked. There's a wide variety of fried foods like fries, burgers, hot dogs, a salad bar, fruit bar, pasta, pizza, desert bar, breakfast area and the main dishes for that day. It was great. During my freshman year everyone on my floor would link up at dhall for lunch and dinner. It would be our way of hanging out and chat together. It was really nice especially during dinner time where everyone was pretty much done with classes. We would talk about our day and how much homework we had to do for the night. Then as my college years went by, more and more of the friends stopped eating here or just hopped off a meal plan entirely. This was due to people living in apartments, no time, and other various reasons because you know, the older we get, the more busy we seem to get. I still came here - even in my last year because, well, I'm lazy to cook. The more I ate here the more repetitive the food got and by the end of college career, it got pretty sickening for me. Both the quality and just the food in general didn't really appeal to me anymore. However, because of this dining hall, I was able to meet so many new people, keep up with some of my friends, and just destress from my classes by hanging out with people. It has been a great experience from me to come here almost every day of my college life. Hate this place or love it. My personal opinion is it brought me closer together with a lot more people and this is something I really treasure. 4 stars is my honest rating as it's not perfect here. But again, it's was like my second home. ”
“ Delight. Adventure. Corey The Omelet Bar Guy. These are just a few features that come to mind when you think of UMBC's finest eatery. The moment you enter, you are instantly blown away with the plethora of cuisine options to choose from. Whether you are in the mood a nice pasta dinner, a quick sandwich, or a hot entree, you know that every meal will be to your utmost satisfaction. You can literally taste the love in every bite. ”
